Panthera lupis by mevagh Panthera lupis by mevagh
This is Panthera lupis, or, a cat with a greyhound physique. Sometimes when I make these hybrids I realise that they kind of already exist; a cheetah is pretty much a greyhound-esque cat.
This was by far my most popular sculpture. It is certainly more dynamic than some of the others. My teacher commented that it appeared both alive and dead at the same time, which she found unnerving, but also really responded to as someone who had grown up in the country.

Ceramic sculpture with oil paint.

Oh yes, that too! That would be the ears...there are always a few extra animals that manage to sneak their way in. There's some lion and boxer in there too :)

This is a really good work. I love the pose, it is very dynamic (as you say), and paws are well-done, especially the fingers.
